Monrepos Lakeside Palace
Ludwigsburg, Germany, Germany
Monrepos Lakeside Palace (Seeschloss Monrepos) is a picturesque palace set beside a lake in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg.
Built between 1758 and 1764 for Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg as a hunting and leisure retreat, it is known for its elegant Rococo architecture and beautiful lakeside setting. The palace is part of the wider Ludwigsburg palace estate and is connected to Ludwigsburg Residential Palace and Favorite Palace by landscaped parkland and avenues.
Later modifications introduced Classical and Empire-style elements, adding to its architectural charm. Today, Monrepos is one of Ludwigsburg’s most scenic landmarks. Surrounded by gardens, walking paths, a golf course, and a lake, it serves as a venue for cultural events, concerts, and weddings while remaining associated with the former royal family of Württemberg.
