Opened in 2005, it is located on the largest green space in Winchester and includes a 50,000-square-foot museum designed by architect Michael Graves, seven acres of formal gardens, and the historic Glen Burnie House dating back to the late 18th century.
The Glen Burnie House has a rich history tied to James Wood, an early settler and founder of Winchester, and was transformed into a beautiful country estate by Julian Wood Glass Jr. and his partner R. Lee Taylor.
The museum displays a variety of art, decorative arts, and historical exhibits, including the Shenandoah Valley Gallery that explores the region's history and culture, the Founders Gallery, and the R.
