The Nadleśnictwo Kaliska - Arboretum Wirty, located near Wirty village in northern Poland by Borzechowskie Lake, is the oldest forest arboretum in Poland, founded in 1875 by forest ranger Adam Putrich together with professor Adam Schwappach.

It covers approximately 33.61 hectares and features over 450 species of trees and shrubs from various regions, with recent decades seeing the addition of many Far-Eastern species to diversify its collection.

The arboretum offers scenic natural paths and educational trails designed to promote ecological awareness and botanical education. It is not only a place of scientific botanical study but also serves as a scenic and peaceful destination for visitors, with features such as picturesque bridges, ponds, wetlands, and viewpoints overlooking the lake. The arboretum is managed as part of Poland’s state forest system and plays a key role in conservation and public engagement with natural history.
