Neuenbürg Castle is a historic castle and Renaissance palace complex that stands on a hill above the town of Neuenbürg in Germany’s Black Forest. Its origins date back to the medieval period, and the site occupied an important strategic position for controlling and defending the surrounding region. The castle later came into the possession of the Counts of Württemberg, who developed it into an administrative and residential center. During the 16th and early 17th centuries, the complex was transformed into a Renaissance residence, with new buildings, gardens, and decorative features added to the older fortress. Although it was affected by wars and periods of decline, much of the historic structure has been preserved and restored. Today, Neuenbürg Castle is one of the region’s most important cultural landmarks. It houses exhibitions and museum displays, hosts cultural events, and offers visitors a chance to explore centuries of local history while enjoying panoramic views over the Enz Valley and the Black Forest.
