Neuffenschloss Weißenhorn
Weißenhorn, Germany, Germany
Neuffenschloss, also known as the Old Castle of Weißenhorn, is a historic castle in Weißenhorn, Bavaria, Germany.
It was built around 1460 to 1470 by Jörg von Rechberg and served as a noble residence as well as part of the town's defensive system on the Schlossberg hill. The castle is one of the oldest and most important buildings in Weißenhorn. Over time, it was modified with Baroque elements, but it still retains much of its historic character and reflects the architecture of the late medieval period.
Neuffenschloss stands alongside the neighboring Fuggerschloss, forming a prominent castle complex in the town center. After extensive restoration and modernization, the historic buildings now house the Weißenhorn city administration and remain a key symbol of the town’s heritage.
