Nyika National Park is the largest national park in Malawi, covering much of the spectacular Nyika Plateau in the country’s northern highlands near Rumphi District.

Known for its rolling grasslands, forested valleys, wildflowers, and cool mountain climate, the park offers scenery that is very different from the typical African safari landscape. The park is famous for its rich wildlife, including zebra, roan antelope, eland, reedbuck, and leopard, as well as more than 400 bird species. It is also renowned for its incredible diversity of orchids and other wildflowers, especially during the rainy season when the plateau bursts into color.
