Obelisk Beach
Sydney, Australia, Australia
Obelisk Beach is a small, secluded cove on Sydney Harbour’s Middle Head, in the Mosman area, known for being one of Sydney’s few legally designated nudist beaches.
The beach is tucked into Obelisk Bay, with about 90 metres of narrow sand backed by bushy slopes and rocky headlands, and it faces southeast into the harbour with relatively deep water just offshore.
Access is on foot via steep steps from Chowder Bay Road, which helps keep the beach quiet and less crowded than many other harbour beaches, and it is mainly used by nudists and is considered a gay‑friendly space, though visitors of all backgrounds are welcome as long as they respect the clothing‑optional culture and the lack of formal surf patrols.
