Oberes Schloss Küps, also known as Haus Schemenau, is a historic noble residence in Küps, Bavaria, distinguished by its striking half-timbered architecture and Renaissance details.

The current building largely dates to the early 17th century, although it stands on the site of an older residence that was likely damaged during the German Peasants’ War in the 16th century. The castle is especially known for its decorative timber framing, Renaissance sandstone portal, and extensive underground cellars and passageways that extend beneath the property.

Its architectural features and craftsmanship make it one of the most distinctive historic buildings in the region. Over the centuries, the building passed through several owners and underwent major restoration work. Today, it is a protected cultural monument and remains an important part of Küps’ heritage, with portions intended for public and museum use following recent preservation efforts.
