Oberlimpurg is a historic site on the outskirts of Schwäbisch Hall in Baden-Württemberg, best known for the ruins of Burg Limpurg, a medieval castle that stands on a hill overlooking the surrounding valleys.

The castle was built around 1230 by the Schenken von Limpurg family and became the ancestral seat of the powerful Lords of Limpurg. The fortress played an important role in regional politics and territorial disputes during the Middle Ages. Over time, it was expanded and strengthened, but in 1575 it was demolished by the Imperial City of Schwäbisch Hall, leaving only ruins behind.

Today, Oberlimpurg is a popular historical and scenic destination. Visitors can explore the remaining walls, gate structures, and earthworks while enjoying panoramic views of Schwäbisch Hall and the surrounding countryside. The site offers a glimpse into both the medieval history and much older prehistoric heritage of the area.
