Pałac Bykowskich
Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland, Poland
Pałac Bykowskich in Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland, began as a late Gothic castle or manor likely constructed in the 15th or 16th century by the Jaxa family of the Gryf coat of arms, who adopted the name Bykowscy from their Byki estate. Around 1604, voivode of Sieradz Jan Stanisław Bykowski and his wife Petronela Małachowska transformed it into a Renaissance palace featuring a prominent tower with an attic, a long rectangular single-story wing, and later northern extensions, serving as their noble residence. Undergoing further rebuilds by the Jeziorańskis in 1847, damage in both world wars, and major restorations from 1959-1964 after Maksymilian Czarniecki donated it for educational use, the structure retains medieval loopholes, Renaissance arcades, and a park, now functioning as part of a local school complex.
