Pipa Beach
Brazil, Brazil
Pipa Beach, or Praia da Pipa, is a renowned beach village in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, northeastern Brazil, about 80–85 kilometers south of the state capital Natal.
It sits on the Atlantic coast surrounded by tall cliffs, dunes, and patches of preserved Atlantic Forest, with several nearby bays such as Praia da Pipa, Baía dos Golfinhos, and Praia do Madeiro, known for fine white sand, clear turquoise waters, and strong surf.
The place began as a small fishing village but was transformed in the 1970s by surfers and backpackers, growing into one of the Northeast’s most cosmopolitan and lively beach towns, popular for dolphin and turtle sightings, coastal trails, and a mix of pousadas, restaurants, and nightlife centered around a compact village core.
