The Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, opened to the public in March 2010, is a 20-acre lush oasis located on the west side of Westmoreland Boulevard along the North Fork of the St. Lucie River.

The land was acquired through a collaborative effort involving the City of Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie County, and the Florida Communities Trust, aimed at preserving the area's diverse natural plant communities. The gardens feature a lake with a fountain, paved walking paths, and a variety of themed gardens including a butterfly garden, orchid room, and rose garden.

A pavilion and gift shop enhance the visitor experience, while the gardens also serve as a popular venue for weddings and community events. The site incorporates scrub, scrubby flatwoods, bay-gall, wet flatwoods, and mangrove habitats, balancing public recreation with ecological preservation. Operated by the Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, the garden relies on volunteers and donations to maintain its natural beauty and educational programs.
