Residenz Hilpoltstein is a historic Renaissance residence in the center of Hilpoltstein, Bavaria. It was built between 1618 and 1626 for Count Palatine Johann Friedrich and served as the seat of the short-lived Palatinate-Hilpoltstein line. The building is known for its elegant architecture and richly decorated stucco ceilings created by the Kuhn brothers. Parts of the residence incorporate even older structures, including remains of a medieval tower and a Romanesque cellar dating back to the 12th century. The complex was designed as a modern four-wing palace with residential, administrative, and ceremonial spaces. Today, the carefully restored residence is an important cultural center for the town. It houses the tourist information office, a public library, and educational facilities, and it is regularly used for exhibitions, weddings, guided tours, and cultural events.
