Rheinsberg Palace
Rheinsberg, Germany, Germany
Rheinsberg Palace is a magnificent lakeside palace in the town of Rheinsberg, Brandenburg, located on the shores of Lake Grienerick.
It is considered one of the finest examples of Frederician Rococo architecture and served as an architectural model for the famous Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam. The palace is closely associated with Frederick the Great, who lived there as crown prince from 1736 to 1740 and later described his years at Rheinsberg as the happiest of his life.
After becoming king, he gave the estate to his brother Prince Henry, who expanded and beautified both the palace and its extensive parklands. Today, Rheinsberg Palace is a museum and cultural center, featuring elegant historic interiors, landscaped gardens, and exhibitions exploring Prussian history and literature.
