Ruine Wallenburg
Dürbheim, Germany, Germany
Ruine Wallenburg is the remains of a small medieval spur castle located on an about 840‑meter‑high rocky spur roughly 3.3 kilometers southeast of the church in the village of Dürbheim in the Tuttlingen district of Baden‑Württemberg, Germany.
The fortress was built around 1200 on a compact hilltop area of about 1,200 square meters and belonged to the noble von Wallenburg family, later being mentioned in documents around 1500 but gradually falling into decay.
Today only minor fragments of walls and ditches survive, so the site is considered a low‑key Burgstelle without standing buildings, and it mainly serves as a quiet, overgrown historical spot on the forested heights above the Ursental that can be reached by a short hike from Dürbheim.
