Ruine Wasserburg
Tuttlingen, Germany, Germany
Ruine Wasserburg is the remains of a small medieval hilltop castle lying on a spur high above the Ludwigstal, roughly 2.5 kilometers north of the center of Tuttlingen in Baden‑Württemberg, Germany.
The fortress was built in the 13th century, likely by a local noble named Wasso whose family gave the site its name, and already partly demolished in the 14th century before being fully abandoned by the 16th century. Today the site appears as a largely overgrown Burgstall with only earthworks, fragments of deep ditches, and scattered low wall remnants still visible in the woods, so visitors can trace the outline of the former castle from the terrain but there are no standing buildings to explore.
