Schloß Reuth

Reuth bei Erbendorf, Germany, Germany

---

Schloß Reuth is a historic castle in the village of Reuth bei Erbendorf in Bavaria’s Upper Palatinate region and is considered one of the most attractive landmarks in the Tirschenreuth district.

The estate was first mentioned in 1337 as the property of the Trautenberg family, and over the centuries it passed through several noble families, including the von Unruh, von Sparneck, von Reitzenstein, and von Podewils families. The castle evolved from an earlier medieval fortified residence and was extensively rebuilt after a major fire in 1722.

Its present appearance features a two-story manor house, an impressive courtyard, and a distinctive round tower with a domed roof, reflecting later architectural additions and renovations. Today, Schloß Reuth remains privately owned by the von Podewils family, who maintain the historic buildings and gardens.
