Schloss Absberg is a Baroque palace located in the town of Absberg in Bavaria, Germany. It was built between 1723 and 1726 by the Teutonic Order after an earlier castle on the site had been destroyed and later dismantled. The palace served as the administrative seat of the order in the region and was designed in an elegant Baroque style. The three-winged building features decorative façades, historic stucco work, and a chapel dedicated to St. Ottilia, which later became the town’s Catholic parish church. The palace also once included a grand ceremonial hall, although parts of the interior were damaged by a fire in 1969. Today, Schloss Absberg remains one of the most important historic buildings in the Franconian Lake District. Since the early 20th century, it has been owned by the Regens Wagner Foundation and serves as a care and support facility, while preserving its architectural and historical significance.
