Schloss Aulendorf
Aulendorf, Germany, Germany
Schloss Aulendorf is a historic castle in the town of Aulendorf, in the Ravensburg district of Baden‑Württemberg, Germany, sitting on a hill above the Schussen River in Upper Swabia.
The site began as a 13th‑century fortress of the Counts of Königsegg and was later transformed into a residential and eventually a representative aristocratic palace, with major additions and stylistic shifts over the centuries, including late Gothic, Baroque, and neoclassical elements.
Today it is a five‑epoch building whose exterior features Gothic stepped gables and a later neoclassical façade, while the interior hosts changing exhibitions organized by the local museum and cultural office. The castle is open to the public on Sundays for guided tours and special events, and it also functions as a venue for weddings, parties, and regional cultural programs, forming a central landmark in the town’s heritage and tourism.
