Schloss Bedernau is a historic castle in the village of Bedernau, part of Breitenbrunn in Bavaria’s Swabia region.

Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, with a castle first documented in 1453, although the site was associated with local noble families as early as the 12th century. Over time, the fortress evolved into a manor-like residence and administrative center for the surrounding estate. The present building is a distinctive three-story castle with a pyramid-shaped roof, round corner towers, and a central stair tower.

Much of its appearance reflects renovations carried out after the Thirty Years’ War and further improvements in the 18th century. A notable feature is its direct connection to the nearby Church of St. Georg via a covered passage. Today, Schloss Bedernau remains a prominent landmark in the village and an important example of Swabian noble architecture. Its preserved historic character reflects centuries of regional history, aristocratic ownership, and architectural development.
