Schloss Bertoldsheim

Rennertshofen, Germany, Germany

---

Schloss Bertoldsheim is an elegant Baroque palace located in the village of Bertoldsheim near Rennertshofen in Bavaria.

Built between 1714 and 1730 for Baron Franz Fortunat von Ysselbach on the site of an earlier medieval castle, it was designed under the direction of the renowned architect Gabriel de Gabrieli and became one of the region’s most impressive noble residences. The palace is a three-winged complex surrounded by a historic park and landscaped grounds.

Over the centuries it passed through several noble families, including the Hornstein and Du Moulin-Eckart families, who further enhanced the interiors and gardens. Although some artworks were lost after World War II, the castle remains an important architectural landmark. Privately owned and undergoing restoration in recent decades, Schloss Bertoldsheim continues to stand as a notable example of Baroque architecture in Bavaria.
