Schloss Beuggen
Rheinfelden, Germany, Germany
Schloss Beuggen is a historic castle complex located in the riverside hamlet of Beuggen, part of the town Rheinfelden (Baden) in Baden‑Württemberg, Germany, right on the Rhine just upstream from the town center.
The site’s origins go back to the 13th century, when it developed as a convent and commandery of the Teutonic Order, later becoming a secular estate owned by the Grand Duchy of Baden after secularization in 1806. Over the centuries the buildings were repeatedly used and adapted, including as a religious retreat and meeting place for the Protestant Church from 1954 to 2016.
Today the complex operates as a privately owned hotel and event venue with a riverside park, restaurant, and function spaces while retaining the appearance of a small Rhine‑side castle ensemble.
