Schloss Bullachberg is a picturesque Art Nouveau-style castle located in Schwangau, close to the famous royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

Built in 1907 for Munich entrepreneur Emil Papenhagen and designed by architect Eugen Drollinger, it stands on a hill formed during the last Ice Age and offers impressive views of the Bavarian Alps. The castle later became the residence of Prince Raphael von Thurn und Taxis and remained associated with his family for many decades.

After changing owners several times, the property was carefully restored and used for agriculture, guest accommodations, weddings, and cultural events. Today, Schloss Bullachberg remains a privately owned landmark and is admired for its elegant architecture, historic character, and exceptional location in one of Bavaria’s most scenic regions. In 2024, the estate was acquired by the Wittelsbach Compensation Fund, further emphasizing its cultural significance.
