Schloss Ehrenfels
Hayingen, Germany, Germany
Schloss Ehrenfels is a baroque castle located near Hasenbach on a hilltop above the boundaries of the Glastal and Werftal valleys close to the Wimsener Höhe in Hayingen, Reutlingen district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Built on the site of a former monastery, the castle was constructed in a simple baroque style by Zwiefalten Abbot Augustin Stegmüller from 1735 to 1740 as a storage facility (pantry) instead of a farm, with completion from 1744 to 1765 under Abt Benedikt von Zwiefalten.
The structure resembles a large country estate and served as the summer residence and pantry (Vorratskammer) for the abbots of Zwiefalten Abbey. Today Schloss Ehrenfels is a listed landmark and historical place that hosts events including weddings, with the interior featuring romantic decoration and space for celebrations, and it is accessible via the bus stop Schloß Ehrenfels/Glastal on line L245 in 72534 Hayingen.
