Schloss Elsterwerda is a historic Baroque palace in the town of Elsterwerda, Brandenburg, built in the 17th century on the site of an earlier medieval castle that guarded an important river crossing and trade route.

Its origins can be traced back to at least the 13th century, making it one of the region’s most significant historical landmarks. Over the centuries, the palace served as a noble residence and later came under Saxon and then Prussian administration. Following extensive changes in the 19th century, it became an educational institution and has remained associated with learning ever since.

Today, Schloss Elsterwerda is a protected heritage monument and houses a secondary school. Surrounded by historic grounds that include a park, a fountain, and centuries-old trees, it is admired for its elegant architecture and its important role in the cultural history of the Elbe-Elster region.
