Schloss Etterzhausen

Nittendorf, Germany, Germany

---

Schloss Etterzhausen is a historic castle and manor house located in the district of Etterzhausen, part of Nittendorf in Bavaria, Germany.

The site has roots dating back to at least the 10th century, while the core of the present Renaissance-style building was constructed around 1590 by Hans Siegmund von Erlbeck. The castle is characterized by its elegant two-story structure and distinctive octagonal tower. It played an important role in local administration and in controlling a nearby crossing of the Naab River.

During the Thirty Years’ War, the castle and surrounding village were heavily damaged, but the building was later rebuilt and expanded, particularly in 1799 under Baron Georg Friedrich von Dittmer. Today, Schloss Etterzhausen remains a notable cultural landmark that reflects centuries of regional history and architectural development. Its well-preserved exterior and scenic setting make it an attractive point of interest for visitors exploring the Regensburg area.
