Schloss Frickenhausen, also known as the Vöhlin Castle, is a historic manor castle in the village of Frickenhausen, part of Lauben in Bavaria’s Unterallgäu region. 

It was built around 1480 by Erhard Vöhlin, a wealthy merchant and mayor of Memmingen, and served as the family’s country residence. The castle is easily recognized by its steep roof, two round defensive towers, and fortified design, reflecting both residential and defensive functions. Over the centuries, it was used as a noble residence, a rectory, and later a private home, helping preserve its place at the center of local history.

Today, Schloss Frickenhausen is considered an important historic monument and a prominent landmark in the village. Recent restoration work has carefully preserved its medieval and Renaissance character while adapting parts of the building for modern use, ensuring that this significant piece of regional heritage remains protected for the future.
