Schloss Friedrichshafen
Friedrichshafen, Germany, Germany
Schloss Friedrichshafen is a historic castle‑like complex located on the shores of Lake Constance in the city of Friedrichshafen, Baden‑Württemberg, southern Germany.
It originated in the 17th century as a Benedictine priory known as Kloster Hofen, built in 1654 and later dissolved in 1802, after which the building was converted into a summer residence for the württembergian kings.
Today the complex is privately owned, so interior visits to the main castle building are not usually open to the public, but its striking baroque‑style Schlosskirche (castle church) with twin dome‑tipped towers remains a local landmark and can be visited or admired from the outside.
