Schloss Haig
Stockheim, Germany, Germany
Schloss Haig is a small historic palace located in the village of Haig, part of Stockheim in Upper Franconia, Bavaria.
The castle was built in 1731 by Johann Veit Freiherr von Würtzburg and served as the center of a local noble estate that played an important role in the administration of the surrounding area. The building is a Baroque-era sandstone structure with a distinctive hipped roof, reflecting the elegant architectural style of the early 18th century.
Over time, the estate became closely connected with the history and development of the village of Haig. Today, Schloss Haig remains a privately owned landmark and one of the village’s most recognizable historic buildings. Together with the surrounding rural landscape and nearby Haiger Moor nature reserve, it contributes significantly to the cultural heritage of the Stockheim region.
