Schloss Hemhofen
Hemhofen, Germany, Germany
Schloss Hemhofen is an elegant Baroque castle in the Bavarian municipality of Hemhofen, built in the early 18th century. Construction began around 1715 under Baron von Töstelberg, and the estate was soon acquired by the noble Winkler von Mohrenfels family, who completed the castle and remained closely connected to it for generations. The castle became the center of a large agricultural estate and developed into an impressive Baroque complex with manor buildings, farmland, forests, and ponds. It also played an important role in local community life, with parts of the estate serving religious and social functions over the years. Today, Schloss Hemhofen remains one of the most notable historic landmarks in the area. While the castle itself is privately owned, it stands as a well-preserved reminder of Franconian noble history and the long-standing heritage of the Winkler von Mohrenfels family.
