Schloss Hersbruck is a historic Renaissance castle located in the center of Hersbruck, Bavaria. Built in 1517 on the foundations of an older medieval fortified site, it originally served as the residence of the local administrator for the Free Imperial City of Nuremberg after the region came under Nuremberg’s control. The castle was expanded between 1618 and 1621, creating the impressive complex seen today. It is known for its Renaissance architecture and beautifully preserved stucco ceilings, which remain among its most notable interior features. Over the centuries, the building served various administrative functions, including as a district office and government center. Today, Schloss Hersbruck houses the Amtsgericht (District Court) of Hersbruck and remains one of the town’s most important historical landmarks.
