First documented as Neu-Hohenfels in 1292 and founded by 12th-century lords of Hohenfels, it passed to the Teutonic Order in 1506, enduring fires in 1553 and 1642 before Württemberg rule, and served as a school until 2017.
Today, the restored landmark blends historic stone walls with contemporary rooms featuring original art, hosting seminars, retreats, weddings, and regional vegetarian cuisine amid peaceful nature just 10 minutes from the Bodensee.
