Schloss Holzgünz is a historic Renaissance-era castle in the village of Holzgünz in Bavaria’s Unterallgäu region.

It was built in 1586 by Balthasar Mayer, the head of the Memmingen Cross Brothers, as a summer residence and retreat for the religious order. The castle complex also includes the Schlosskirche St. Simon and Judas Thaddäus, an important historic church. After secularization in the early 19th century, the castle passed into private ownership and served a variety of purposes over the years.

Including as a rectory, school, brewery, hospital, and even a prisoner-of-war camp during World War I. Today, Schloss Holzgünz remains a notable local landmark. Parts of the complex are used as residences, while another section contains a restaurant and former brewery. Its well-preserved architecture and long history make it an important part of the cultural heritage of the Unterallgäu region.
