Schloss Hornberg is a historic hilltop castle located in the Hornberg district of Kirchberg an der Jagst in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Originally built in 1216 during the Hohenstaufen period, it occupied a strategic position above the Jagst River and helped protect an important medieval trade route between the cities of Hall and Rothenburg. The castle changed ownership several times over the centuries and was partially damaged during the German Peasants’ War in 1525.

It was subsequently rebuilt and gradually transformed from a medieval fortress into a Renaissance-style noble residence, while retaining many of its defensive features. Today, Schloss Hornberg remains remarkably well preserved, with elements such as its ring walls, moat, gatehouse, and tower still visible. Privately owned by the von Crailsheim family for centuries, it stands as an important landmark of the Hohenlohe region and reflects more than 800 years of local history.
