It was built in 1784 by the Memmingen patrician Sigmund von Lupin and is an elegant example of late Baroque and early classical architecture. The castle features a two-story main building, landscaped grounds, and several distinctive interior details, including decorative staircases, historic tiled stoves, and fragments of an organ from St. Martin's Church in Memmingen incorporated into the building. Surrounded by parkland, the estate is also known for its unusual monuments, including a replica Roman sculpture and an obelisk erected in memory of a favorite horse.
