Schloss Kalteneck is a picturesque moated castle located in Schwenningen, Bavaria, Germany. The Renaissance-style castle was built around 1570 on an island within a spring-fed pond, although the site is believed to have been associated with an earlier medieval water fortress dating back several centuries. Over the years, the castle passed through the hands of various noble owners and gradually evolved from a noble residence into a more commercial property. A castle inn was established there in the 19th century, and the estate also included a brewery that operated until 1982. Today, Schloss Kalteneck is a well-preserved historic landmark surrounded by a water moat and reached by a wooden bridge. It operates as a guesthouse and hospitality venue, allowing visitors to experience its historic atmosphere while enjoying the scenic countryside of the Dillingen region.
