Schloss Krumbach is a historic Renaissance castle located on a hill in the center of Krumbach, Bavaria, Germany. Although the site was first associated with a castle in the 12th century, the current three-story Renaissance building was largely constructed around 1530 under Hans Lamparter von Greifenstein and later received Baroque interior features. The castle played an important role in local administration for centuries, serving as the seat of courts, district authorities, and the county government. Its prominent location beside St. Michael’s Church makes it one of the town’s most recognizable landmarks. Today, Schloss Krumbach houses the Joseph Bernhart Academy for Social Pedagogy and remains a well-preserved symbol of the town’s history. Its blend of medieval origins, Renaissance architecture, and public heritage makes it one of the most significant historic buildings in the Günzburg district.
