Schloss Lautrach is a historic castle in the village of Lautrach in Bavaria’s Allgäu region.

Built between 1781 and 1783 by Prince-Abbot Honorius von Schreckenstein as a hunting lodge and administrative residence, it replaced an older castle that had been destroyed by fire and features elegant late Baroque and Rococo architecture. During the 19th century, the castle served as an educational institution and later became famous as a gathering place for scholars, artists, and scientists.

Under the ownership of inventor Hermann Anschütz-Kaempfe, it hosted notable guests including Albert Einstein and several Nobel Prize winners, making it an important intellectual and cultural center. Today, Schloss Lautrach functions as a hotel, conference, and seminar venue while preserving its historic interiors, landscaped grounds, and unique cultural heritage. It remains one of the most distinguished historic landmarks in the Allgäu region.
