Schloss Mainsondheim is a historic manor castle located in the village of Mainsondheim, part of Dettelbach in Bavaria’s Franconian wine region. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, when the noble Fuchs von Dornheim family held an estate there. The present castle developed during the 15th century and was later modified by the Lords of Crailsheim and other noble owners. The castle is notable for its largely late-Gothic architecture, featuring a rectangular courtyard, corner towers, wooden galleries, and a distinctive polygonal stair tower. Additional renovations in the 18th century gave the complex some of its current appearance while preserving its historic character. Today, Schloss Mainsondheim remains privately owned by the von Bechtolsheim family, who have held it since the early 18th century. As one of the most prominent landmarks in Mainsondheim, it reflects centuries of aristocratic history and continues to dominate the village landscape.
