Schloss Münchshofen

Schloss Münchshofen is a historic manor castle in the village of Münchshofen, now part of Teublitz in Bavaria’s Upper Palatinate region.

The estate was the center of the former Hofmark (manorial district) of Münchshofen and was owned by several noble families over the centuries, including the von Parsberg, von Tannberg, and von Aretin families. The present castle complex dates largely from the late 16th century, with major construction around 1597.

Built on the site of an earlier medieval residence, it was damaged during the Thirty Years’ War and later altered and expanded. The complex includes a distinctive Renaissance-style manor house and an adjoining castle chapel dedicated to the Holy Cross and Saint Margaret, built in 1772. Today, Schloss Münchshofen remains a prominent landmark overlooking the Naab River.
