Schloss Petzow
Werder, Germany, Germany
Schloss Petzow is a historic manor house in the Petzow district of Werder (Havel), beautifully situated near Lake Schwielowsee in Brandenburg, Germany.
Rebuilt in the early 19th century in a romantic Neo-Gothic style inspired by English architecture, it is considered one of the region’s most distinctive country estates. The estate forms part of the famous “Petzow Ensemble,” which combines the manor house, village church, park, and surrounding landscape.
The property is closely associated with leading Prussian designers such as Peter Joseph Lenné and, according to tradition, Karl Friedrich Schinkel, whose influence helped shape its unique appearance. Today, the castle itself is largely privately used, but the restored Schlossgarten Petzow remains a popular attraction.
