Schloss Prötzel
Prötzel, Germany, Germany
Schloss Prötzel is a historic Baroque palace in the village of Prötzel, Brandenburg, Germany.
It was built between 1712 and 1717 for the Prussian statesman Paul Anton von Kameke, based on plans attributed to the renowned architect Andreas Schlüter, and is considered an important example of Baroque architecture in the region. The estate is surrounded by an English-style landscape park that was created in the 18th century.
Over the years, the palace underwent several renovations, including significant changes by architect Friedrich August Stüler in 1859, and remained in the possession of the von Eckardstein family until 1945. After decades of decline following World War II, Schloss Prötzel entered a period of restoration under private ownership. Today, it is recognized as an important cultural landmark and has hosted events such as the International Komitas Festival, highlighting both its architectural beauty and cultural significance.
