Schloss Rüdenhausen
Rüdenhausen, Germany, Germany
Schloss Rüdenhausen is a historic castle in the Bavarian village of Rüdenhausen and has long served as the residence of the princely Castell-Rüdenhausen family. Its origins date back to at least the 13th century, although parts of an earlier medieval moated castle are believed to have existed on the site. Over the centuries, the castle was expanded and remodeled several times, particularly after it became the seat of the Castell-Rüdenhausen family in the late 16th century. Despite suffering damage during the Thirty Years' War, it was restored and continued to serve as an important noble residence. Today, the castle remains privately owned and inhabited by the family. Its mixture of medieval and later architectural elements, together with the surrounding historic park, makes it one of the most significant aristocratic landmarks in the Kitzingen district of Lower Franconia.
