Schloss Stetten
Niederstotzingen, Germany, Germany
Schloss Stetten in Niederstotzingen, Germany, is a Renaissance castle built in 1646 on the site of an older medieval fortress in the Stetten ob Lontal district, elevated on hill spurs overlooking the Lone Valley and later extensively remodeled in Baroque style between 1712 and 1748 by architect Valerian Brenner.
Originally held by the Lords of Riedheim from 1357—who styled themselves von Stetten after 1449—it passed through noble families including the von Hack and finally to Count Carl Leopold von Maldeghem in 1821, featuring a three-story L-shaped building with sweeping gables, walled gardens, corner towers, and a chapel.
Today privately owned yet hosting events by the Württemberg Ritter association like knight tournaments, it offers wheelchair access, family-friendly spaces, and scenic surroundings ideal for weddings and cultural gatherings amid the Swabian Alb's transition to the Danube Valley.
