Schloss Wain
Wain, Germany, Germany
Schloss Wain is an 18th‑century classical‑style castle located in the village of Wain, a small municipality in the Biberach district of Upper Swabia in southern Germany.
It was built in 1780–1781 for the Memmingen merchant Benedict von Herman according to designs by Munich court architect Lorenzo Quaglio and constructed by Eitelfriedrich Knoll, featuring a two‑storey main building with a central projecting section and hipped roof.
The complex also includes symmetrical side buildings that once housed the gardener and huntsman, along with stables, ancillary structures, and a surrounding park, and today it serves as the seat of the Freiherr von Herman’s rent and forestry office rather than as a public residence or tourist attraction.
