Schloss Woffenbach

Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, Germany, Germany

---

Schloss Woffenbach was a historic manor and castle estate in Woffenbach, now a district of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, Bavaria.

The site dates back to the Middle Ages, with local noble families documented there as early as the 13th century, and it served as the center of the local lordship for centuries. The castle suffered significant damage during the Thirty Years’ War and was burned down in 1634 before being rebuilt in the following decades.

Over time, however, the original castle complex gradually disappeared, and much of it was eventually demolished. Today, only a few remnants of the estate survive, including parts of the former buildings, garden walls, and the historic Schlosskapelle St. Margareta. Although the castle itself is largely gone, the site remains an important reminder of Woffenbach’s medieval and early modern history.
