Schlosshotel Weyberhöfe is a historic castle hotel located in Sailauf, on the edge of the Spessart forest in Bavaria. Its origins date back to 1265, when Archbishop Werner von Eppstein established a hunting lodge known as Castrum Vivarium for the Electors of Mainz, making it one of the region’s oldest aristocratic estates. The estate was destroyed during the Margrave’s War in 1552 and later rebuilt, evolving over the centuries from a hunting residence and farm estate into a noble manor. In the early 20th century, it was extensively renovated, and in 1991 it was transformed into a hotel while preserving much of its historic character. Today, Schlosshotel Weyberhöfe combines historical architecture with modern comfort, offering elegant accommodations, wellness facilities, and landscaped grounds. Its rich history, peaceful setting, and connection to the former Electors of Mainz make it a distinctive destination in the Bavarian Spessart region.
