Sibebe Rock
Near Mbabane, Eswatini
Sibebe Rock, located about 10 km north of Mbabane in Eswatini, is the world's second-largest granite monolith after Uluru, a massive three-billion-year-old volcanic dome rising 350 meters above the Mbuluzi Valley and spanning around 16,500 hectares.
This imposing bare granite slab, also called "Bald Rock," features sculpted boulders, hidden forest clefts, caves with raptors, and seasonal wildflowers from October to December, accessible via well-marked hiking trails from the Sibebe Trails community project that offer strenuous climbs with panoramic highveld views.
After rains, its glistening streams create a magical spectacle best seen from afar due to slippery dangers, while nearby Sibebe Resort provides lodging amid the area's lush vegetation and biodiversity.
