Sieraków is a town in western Poland's Greater Poland Voivodeship, situated on the Warta River amid the Międzychód-Sieraków Lakeland near the Notecka Forest and lakes like Jaroszewskie and Lutomskie, about 74 km northwest of Poznań, with prehistoric settlement traces from the Stone Age and Bronze Age.

Established as a Piast gród on a key trade route from Poznań to Szczecin, it received Magdeburg rights in the 14th century under King Casimir the Great likely through voivode Maciej Borkowic around 1333-1352, featuring a Gothic castle built on an artificial mound east of town—initially wooden, later bricked with residential buildings—that evolved into a Baroque residence under the Górka and Opaliński families before 18th-19th century demolition and 1995 reconstruction as a museum.

Owned by nobles like the Nałęcz, Górka (from 1450, who added a hospital and church), and Opaliński (from 1591), it thrived on crafts and fairs, supported Polish uprisings, endured Prussian partition from 1793 and WWII, and now preserves its historic market square, Gothic parish church from 1404, and lakeside recreational appeal.
