Sinnissippi Gardens in Rockford, Illinois, is a historic public garden within Sinnissippi Park, which was established in 1909 as the first property of the Rockford Park District.

The park and gardens are named after the Algonquin word for "rocky waters," reflecting the natural features of the area along the Rock River. Early leaders like Robert Tinker, inspired by European gardens, and philanthropist Levin Faust helped design and expand the gardens, emphasizing horticultural beauty and community engagement.

The gardens feature a notable Rose Garden with around 2,000 rose bushes across many varieties, restored and maintained through community efforts including the Rockford Men’s Garden Club.

A prominent addition is the Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens, opened in 2011, offering tropical plants and seasonal floral displays year-round. Sinnissippi Gardens hosts educational programs, seasonal events, and remains a cherished green space for nature lovers and families, combining historic charm with ongoing environmental stewardship.​
